There are two Adult Drama classes at Southside Community Centre in Edinburgh.
Adult Drama (1) launched in September 2025 and is for anyone who is looking to build levels of confidence and have fun whilst developing new skills in drama and the performing arts.
Adult Drama (2) launched in January 2012 and seeks to provide participants with the opportunity to devise, develop and script their own productions which are performed in public once a year.
The 15 available places in each class are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Day: Wednesday
Time: (1) 5.00 – 6.30pm / (2) 6.30 – 8.30pm
Venue: Southside Community Centre
Price: £2 per week
We are grateful to Southside Community Centre for subsidising the Adult Drama Programme since its inception in January 2012.
The adult classes are fantastic! Having not done any drama for many years, I was nervous to start, but Rebecca was so kind and encouraging that I soon felt comfortable to try new things and step outside of my comfort zone. The group is so welcoming and supportive, and the sessions are great fun!

There are a lot of additional benefits to attending the classes, not least the friendships made. There are a wide variety of people in both classes, of differing ages, cultures, backgrounds, and abilities. This makes for a great learning environment, and also helps build patience, tolerance, and understanding.
